Quebec has announced the following positive changes to its refundable Film and TV Production Services Tax Credit program:

  • Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality have been added as activities which are eligible for both the 20% ‘spend’ credit and the 16% VFX and computer animation bonus credit.
  • The minimum budget threshold for tax credit eligibility has been reduced to $250,000 for a single work or for an entire series or miniseries, regardless of run time. Previously, the minimum budget was C$1 million for single productions (feature films/one-offs), and C$100,000 or C$200,000 per episode, depending on duration, for a series or miniseries.
